Ever since Toyota pulled out of Formula One racing in 2009, there have been whispers amongst racing fans that they'd done so in order to focus on returning to the legendary Le Mans endurance race. Unfortunately, the Japanese automaker has never had much luck in the European race. In fact, only one competing Japanese automaker has ever won the 24 Hour of Le Mans endurance race, and they did so with their famous rotary engine. Knowing this, Toyota has adopted a different strategy for this year's race: Bring the hybrid tech they're known for onto the track.
